Cabin baggage regulations

Conditions

The number, weight and dimensions of cabin baggage allowed depend on the airline you are travelling with. We advise you to check your airline’s conditions of carriage before departure.

As a general rule, every passenger — except children under 2 — may carry one piece of cabin baggage.

Certain items considered dangerous are not allowed in the cabin and will be removed during the security check:

weapons or imitation weapons;
knives, box cutters, penknives;
scissors with a blade longer than 6 cm;
work tools;
blunt objects;
sports equipment;
dangerous or flammable substances.

Liquids, gels, aerosols and cosmetics

Liquids, gels, aerosols and cosmetics carried in the cabin must comply with the following rules:

containers of no more than 100 ml;
placed in a single transparent resealable plastic bag;
maximum bag dimensions: 20 × 20 cm.

The following are nonetheless allowed in the cabin:

baby food required for the journey;
liquid medication accompanied by a prescription;
insulin for diabetic passengers;
purchases made in the boarding area, after the security checks.

Hold baggage

Conditions

Checked hold baggage is subject to a baggage allowance set by your airline. This may vary depending on the ticket fare or the destination.

Before departure, remember to check:

the maximum weight allowed;
the accepted dimensions;
any additional charges for exceeding the allowance.

Where possible, we recommend adding your baggage directly on your airline’s website before arriving at the airport, as the rates are often cheaper than at the counter.

Regulations

Special conditions may apply to specific equipment:

skis and ski boots;
golf bags;
surfboards or snowboards;
diving equipment;
musical instruments.

This baggage must be checked into the hold and declared in advance to your airline.

Lost baggage and lost property:

Lost baggage

If you cannot find your baggage on arrival, you must file a report with your airline or its baggage handler.

You will be given a file number to track the search for your baggage. The airline will contact you as soon as it is located.

Lost property

Items found in the terminal or its immediate vicinity are handed in at the “Reception – Information” desk. Found items are kept for 3 months before being destroyed or donated to a charity. For an item left on board the aircraft, contact your airline’s baggage service directly.
