Travelling with an animal
Pets are accepted on board aircraft, either in the cabin or in the hold, subject to the prior agreement of the airline. Certain restrictions may apply depending on the airline, the type of animal, its weight or the regulations of the destination country.
Your animal must be declared at the time you book your trip.

Under 5 kilos
Small animals may be accepted in the cabin in a bag or carrier that meets the dimensions set by the airline.
The maximum weight allowed in the cabin varies from one airline to another. Some do not accept any animals in the cabin, with the exception of assistance dogs.
IMPORTANT: when booking, inform the airline that you are travelling with an animal. The transport conditions and any additional charges will be communicated to you directly by the airline.
Remember also to travel with your animal’s health record and identification documents.
Health requirements:
Any animal travelling within the European Union must:
- be identified;
- be vaccinated against rabies;
- hold a European pet passport issued by a veterinarian.
For some destinations outside the European Union, additional formalities may be required, in particular a blood test confirming rabies antibodies. In some countries, an animal that does not meet the health requirements may be placed in quarantine. We advise you to check with your airline and your veterinarian before departure.
