Did you know?
Bristol’s iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge was designed by the engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel—but he never lived to see it completed.
Construction was delayed several times, and Brunel died in 1859, five years before the bridge officially opened in 1864. Today, this remarkable structure is one of Bristol’s most recognisable landmarks and a lasting symbol of the city.
